Top 6% wine in the world
Blend: 50% Garandmak + 50% Voskéat
From: Armenia, Vayots Dzor
By: Zorik Gharibian @ Zorah
Created from a rare white blend of Garandmak and Voskéat in one of the oldest winegrowing regions in the world – the site of the world’s oldest winery, some 6,100 years old is just a short walk away. Voski, meaning ‘gold’ in Armenian is a medium bodied white that can be enjoyed now or aged for five to six years.
Born to an Armenian family who had to flee the country in 1915. Zorah was sent to Italy for his education and stayed there to found a successful fashion business. He raised enough cash to return to his ancestral homeland and invest €1million in a winery and vineyard on the slopes of Mount Ararat. Wines are made under the guidance of Alberto Antonini, an oenologist who likes to get involved with interesting, international wine projects.
