Top 6% wine in the world
Extra-dry sparkling white
Blend: 100% Glera (Prosecco)
From: Italy, Asolo DOCG
By: Ca’ Morlin
A moreish Prosecco fit for all fans of fizz. Prosecco Superiore Spumante is made by Andrea Morlin in a small winery in the heart of the Prosecco region, which has been making this sparkly favourite for hundreds of years. The region has now been awarded DOCG status, given to the highest quality Italian wine.
The Glera grapes for Prosecco Superiore Spumante grow on vineyards in the Asolo, near Venice. known as the ‘town of a thousand horizons’ thanks to its stunning mountain setting. This Prosecco is unusual in that it is made on an organically managed vineyard (apparently quite rare for Prosecco). The first hectare of this vineyard was planted by Andrea’s grandfather after his return from World War Two. In 2005 Andreas decided (wisely considering just how popular Prosecco has become in recent years!) to focus exclusively on Prosecco production.
