By: Tom Lubbe @ Domaine Matassa
From a small vineyard perched up in the hills of Coteaux du Fenouillèdes in the Roussillon, Marguerite Blanc is a light bodied wine that will pair well with just about anything. Made from a blend of selected grapes, grown in the hot dry climes of the Languedoc, this wine promises you a ‘ride through a rocky landscape’.
Marguerite Blanc hails from the Domaine Matassa, a small organic vineyard purchased by vigneron Tom Lubbe in 2001. Tom had grown wine in South Africa, and France including the celebrated Domaine Gauby. This rocky white is made from a blend of muscat and viognier, which are harvested in the morning, pressed in baskets and fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak barriques.
