Manzoni Bianco Fontanasanta
Blend: 100% Manzoni Bianco
From: Italy, Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT
By: Elisabetta Foradori
Manzoni Bianco in purity, a grape variety produced by crossing Riesling and Pinot Bianco. Deep straw in colour, the nose starts gently to reveal its strong character, lemon peel, peach, apricot and a finish of hazelnut and honeysuckle. The palate is complex and wide. Starting with fruity notes, evolving into flowery and spicy notes finishing with hazelnuts and ginger.
The winery was founded in 1901 but was taken over by Elisabetta in 1985. Proud of its heritage but looking to the future, Elisabetta took the winery forward with her strong beliefs to: work in harmony with nature, respecting its cycles and rhythms, avoiding using chemicals and reducing human interaction as much as possible. Following the biodynamic philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, her winery is “Demeter” biodynamic certified since 2009 in a period where it was not popular to go against the traditional method. She was certainly a pioneer, and today she has been proven right. Her wine are outstanding and with an incredible ageing potential despite being very low in sulphites.
Vivino users rate it a top wine with a stunning 3.8!
