Top 6% wine in the world
Blend: 50% Barbera + 50% Bonarda
From: Italy, Emilia IGP
By: Elena Pantaleoni @ La Stoppa
A blend of Barbara and Bonarda grapes in equal proportions, grown on the slopes of Val Trebbiola, in the region of Piacenza. Deep ruby red in colour, intriguing on the nose and complex with red cherry, strawberry and flowery notes of violet and lavender. The palate is long lasting and with an incredibly pleasant balance of acidity combined with gentle tannins.
The La Stoppa vinyards span over 58 hectares on the mild hills at the beginning of the
Appenninos. Owned by the Pantaleonis since 1973, who have since completely refurbishment and renewed the entire winery ensuring that they always work in total respect of nature, following the rules of organic production. The yield is very low and the old age of the vines produce incredible quality grapes which create wines with a wonderful strong character and great identity.
