The Les Quilles Libre Rouge is a natural wine made in Maury in the French Pyrenees. It is made predominantly from grenache, with smaller amounts of syrah and carignan, and is a medium-bodied wine with flavours of red berries, sage and pepper.
The producer, Clot de l’Origine, carries out all vineyard maintenance by hand, including harvest. The vines are planted on a diverse range of soils, including schist and limestone, where they have ample nutrition and hydration to produce concentrated grapes.
The grapes for Les Quilles Libre Rouge are fermented in wooden oak vats for 12 days using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in wooden tanks for 12 months. Minimal sulphur is used during the winemaking process, and Les Quilles Libre Rouge is bottled by hand without fining or filtration.
Vivino users rate it a top wine with a stunning 3.9!
