Top 2% wine in the world
Blend: Sangiovese + Colorino + Mammolo + Foglia Tonda
From: Italy, Toscana IGT
By: Giovanna Morganti @ Podere Le Boncie
Le Trame in italian means “the intrigues” and is made of variable percentage of Sangiovese, Colorino and Mammolo. Bright purple in colour, the nose starts with red fruit such as red berries and cherry. Evolving into blackberry and flowery notes. The palate is wide and long lasting, balanced between fruits, flowers and spices. Good acidity and long lasting finish of liquorice and leather.
Giovanna Morganti is the owner of just three hectares of vineyards but she is certainly considered one of the best promise in oenology, with a bright future ahead. She works effortlessly in creating a healthy and sustainable environment always taking nature into consideration.
The vineyard functions in line with biodynamic movements harvesting is always strictly by hand and fermentation takes place in traditional open-topped wooden tanks. Due to the silty soil and high density per hectare, the yield is extremely low. But as always a low yield can be a sign of a high quality wine, and in this case it is truer than true.
Vivino users rate it a top wine with a stunning 4.2!
