La Bruja De Rozas
Top 8% wine in the UK
Blend: 100% Grenache
From: Spain, Sierra de Gredos
By: Fernando, Daniel & Marc @ Comando G
A fine bodied red with an acidic backbone from vineyards in the Sierra de Gredos. Although created entirely from Garnacha grapes, the creation of La Bruja de Rozas is a collective effort from three friends, affectionately called the ‘encholdaos’ – crazy oenologists, dedicated to creating first-class Garnacha wines.
The crazy oenologists, Fernando García, Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi and Marc Isart have given themselves the rather romantic task of hunting down old vine vineyards to create their wines. The three friends want to create wines that capture the terroir of the land where the grapes are grown; a humid stretch of land between Madrid and Ávilla. The grapes for La Bruja de Rozas are manually harvested from two vineyards and aged for five month in French oak barrels.
