Aromatic orange white wine
Blend: 50% Moscato Giallo + 50% Sauvignon Blanc
From: Australia, Wine of Australia
By: Patrick Sullivan
You’re perfectly safe, this wine is made from a 50/50 blend of Moscato Giallo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, not haggis. An offering from the organic farm of Paul Sullivan in Victoria, Haggis wine is fermented from grapes with the skin left on for a bit, which gives it a slightly orange hue.
Former wanderer Paul has settled with his wife Megan in a beautiful farm in the hills around Ellinbank, Victoria. Paul works hand in hand with nature seeking simply to make the wines he wants to drink. An honest ambition to be sure. Sullivan’s wines are unfiltered, unfined and left to ferment with indigenous yeasts in clay vessels. Haggis wine is a ‘grippy wine’ with hints of honeydew and orange rind; it has a sweet start and a savoury finish. Enjoy as an aperitif.
