De Toute Beaute
Top 6% wine in the world
Blend: 70% Gamay + 30% Old Jurassic Varietals
From: France, Beaujolais & Jura
By: Domaine Jean-François Ganevat
A dark and spicy wine made from a variety of grapes – a response to tiny yields in 2012 and 2013, in the vineyards of the Jura region, a rolling landscape between Burgundy and Switzerland. De Toute Beauté is conjured from a mix of Gamay and old Jurassic varietals by renowned wine making siblings Anne and François Ganevat.
The Jura region is one of the smallest wine regions of France – it’s actually more famous for cheese. Jura’s vineyards grow an eclectic variety of grapes, which produce an eclectic variety of wines. Anne and Jean-Francois work land in and around the charming hamlet of La Combe. Jean Francois is known to be a master of his craft, making as many as 40 cuveés a year, each treated with a maddening attention to detail.
