From: France, Vin de Provence AOC
By: Jeanjean family @ Château Beaulieu
Cuvée Alexandre Rosé is the flagship wine from the historic Château Beaulieu estate in Provence, southern France. It is made from a blend of grenache, mourvedre, syrah and cinsaut with some cabernet sauvignon for body, and shows classic Provencal characters of strawberry and redcurrant with some more delicate notes of white peach and pear.
The vines are grown in the crater of an ancient volcano on clay-limestone soils. These free-draining soils, along with the sunny Mediterranean climate and the influence of the cool Mistral wind, provide the vines with a suitable environment for the development of intensely flavoured berries. Green harvests are carried out during the growing season to lower yields and provide further concentration.
The grapes for the Cuvée Alexandre Rosé are gently pressed in the same manner as a white wine before being fermented by variety in cool stainless steel. The wine is fined and filtered, and sees no oak.
