Côtes de Gascogne Blanc
Top 6% wine in the world
Aromatic white wine
Blend: 80% Colombard + 10% Gros Manseng + 10% Ugni Blanc
From: France, Côtes de Gascogne IGP
By: Nicolas Duffour @ Domaine de Saint-Lannes
This great-value white wine is a blend of the key white grape varieties of South West France – Colombard, Gros Manseng and Ugni Blanc. It offers crowd-pleasing refreshment while also catering to those looking for something a little more complex, with crisp lemon and lime flavours balanced out by more tropical fruits like pineapple.
Grapes for the Saint-Lannes Cotes de Gascogne Blanc come from a south-facing vineyard with clay-limestone soil, much like that on Burgundy’s famous Cote d’Or. The mineral content of the soil contributes to the bright minerality in the wine itself, as well as providing a well-drained environment for the vines, helping to reduce disease pressure in the vineyard.
Following a temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine was aged on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks before being bottled.
