Chianti Rufina Riserva Bucerchiale
Top 2% wine in the world
Blend: 80% Sangiovese + 20% Indigenous red grapes
From: Italy, Chianti Rufina DOCG
This Sangiovese is vinificated in steel and aged in small French oak casks. On the nose it starts with cherry, redcurrant and violets. Palate wide and persistent, with notes of red fruit, leather, tobacco and a nice vanilla finish.
Selvapiana has a long and historic heritage. The original building was a medieval sighting tower, built to protect Florence. Converted, enlarged and refurbished throughout the years. Today is a beautiful villa which in the past housed the bishop of Florence. The winery today is run by the Giuntini family and the property includes 250 hectares. 58 are planted with vines, others with olives, gardens and wood. This wine comes from their Bucerchiale vineyard which has been certified organic and sits at 200 mt a.s.l. The soil here is made of clay, limestone and gravel.
