Chante Coucou Rouge
Top 6% wine in the world
Blend: 50% Merlot + 20% Cab Sauv + 20% Malbec + 10% Syrah
From: France, Côtes du Marmandais AOC
By: Elian Da Ros @ Domaine Elian Da Ros
The Domaine Elian Da Ross is situated near the riverside town of Marmande in South West France. Close to the Atlantic, the vineyards enjoy a mild maritime climate. This is a complex red created from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec and Syrah grapes.
Elian Da Ross began studying oenology and viticulture at the tender age of fourteen and became seduced by the ideals of organic farming. He returned to his father’s vineyard in 1997 and set to work, running the vineyard to biodynamic principles and building a wine cellar where grapes are treated in a gentle manner – Elian believes that this allows the terroir to win through. Chante Couco Rouge is aged for twenty months in oak barrels and lightly filtered.
