Cap Classique Brut Blanc de Blancs
Brut sparkling white
Blend: 100% Chardonnay
From: South Africa, Franschhoek WO
By: Chris Hellinger @ Chamonix
A buttery sparkling white from the historic vineyard of Chamonix, situated in a premium wine growing area, the Franschboek valley. The beautiful farm spreads along the slopes of the Franschboek Mountains, which protect the vines from Atlantic breezes and help prolong the growing season.
Wines has been made in the Franschboek mountains since the early sixteenth century when the area was populated by exiled French Huguenots. The Chamonix estate, which dates back to 1688, is now in the hands of German adventurer Chris Hellinger who also farms game and bottles their natural spring water. The Chardonnay grapes for the Chamonix Cap Classique Brut are manually harvested and aged for eleven months in oak bottles and five months in the bottle.
