Amarone Vigna Garzon
Top 1% wine in the world
Blend: 40% Corvina + 20% Corvinone + 15% Croatina + 15% Rondinella
From: Italy, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
By: Pieropan family @ Pieropan
Corvina grapes are blended with a mix of Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and other traditional local grapes. All Manually harvested, and left to dry naturally before pressing. Pruducing a deep ruby wine, Clear notes of cherry on the nose, strawberries, and an evolution of spices. The palate is complex, full bodied and long lasting, balanced with a good acidity.
This is the typical process for producing Amarone and as it is so labour intensive, the yield is very low (up to 30% of the weight of the grapes).
The Pieropan winery was founded in 1880 in the historic village of Soave, in the Veneto region by the towns doctor, Leonildo. Today they are 4th generation wine makers and the winery is now a modern and dynamic producer run by two brothers, Andrea and Dario Pieropan.
Vivino users rate it a top wine with a stunning 4.3!
